Brain Surgery

So, here's what I remember about my brain surgery:

1. Driving to the hospital. I recall all the prep-work in detail. I remember being wheeled into the O.R., my wife saying goodbye and that she loved me.

2. I'm somewhat foggy about the rest. Just flashes here and there. A nurse talking to me about the upcoming procedure; the anesthesiologist reassuring me that the injection he'd given me would relax me and probably prevent me from remembering very much.

3. I don't recall seeing Dr. Liau before the surgery, but I do remember someone telling me that she would.

4. I did have several vivid recollections from my "awake" time during the surgery. Most have faded, now, but obviously I remembered spelling "platypus!"

5. I have no memory 0f my time in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit), nor of being transported from there to my regular room.

6. My memory starts to slowly return after this. I know that standing by my side throughout this whole process stood my wife and children. I am very blessed!

One other memory is very clear to me. Weeks later, when I was in rehab, one of the doctors said he'd reviewed the notes Dr. Liau had made after my surgery. "She did a magnificent job!" I can only agree!

Hi, Robert!

Glad to see this update. I'm very thankful to God that everything went well! I'm sure you're not feeling totally up to par right now, but you came through and things will get better!

Bob,

I have to thank you for this website. I think it's given a lot of comfort to those of us who are concerned....but don't want to be pests!

Hey Bro,

This is your brother in Christ, Sam Shamoun. Nice to see your doing well by God's grace. I had called the hospital shortly after your surgery to let you know that we are praying for you and that you are in our hearts.

Can't wait to see your latest posts and articles since you are truly a gifted and wonderful apologist by the grace of our risen Lord. Amen for that!

May the risen and eternal Son richly bless you and your family and grant you a speedy and full recovery for his holy name's sake. Amen.
